Creston & District Credit Union helps you to improve productivity and streamline your administrative processes by using the Customer Automated Funds Transfer System (CAFT) through Central 1.  CAFT is a secure method of creating and/or transmitting Automated Funds (AFT) on pre-determined dates or at regular intervals.  AFT are electronic credit and debit transactions that are authorized by an account holder to credit or debit his or her account, usually at regular intervals.  So this service can be used by businesses to automate their payroll.

How the CAFT Process Works

The organization enters transactions directly into CAFT and then manually or automatically releases them for processing.  Alternately, the organization uses its own in-house software, or that of a third party, to create AFT files and upload them to CAFT.  The file must conform to the Canadian Payments Association (CPA) Standard 005 file format.
